Qatar Engages in OECD Ministerial Council Meeting on Industrial Policies

Paris: The State of Qatar participated in the 2026 Ministerial Council Meeting of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), focused on the theme "Getting Industrial Policies Right for Open Markets, Growth and Prosperity." HE Minister of Finance Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari represented Qatar at the meeting. According to Qatar News Agency, His Excellency also took part in a session titled "Setting the Scene for Industrial Policy Discussion," which included ministers, senior officials, and policymakers from member countries and partner economies. The session addressed key global economic challenges and policies that support sustainable economic growth and prosperity. The discussions at the meeting explored methods to strengthen international co-operation and co-ordinate efforts in developing flexible and inclusive economic and industrial policies. These policies aim to keep pace with global transformations and support long-term sustainable growth. Additionally, participants underscored the necessity of maintaining dialogue and exchanging expertise to enhance the effectiveness and resilience of public policies.
