Doha: The State of Qatar actively participated in the 76th meeting of the Committee of Undersecretaries of the Ministries of Finance of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states. This significant gathering saw the involvement of Dr. Saud bin Abdullah Al Attiyah, Deputy Undersecretary for Economic Affairs at Qatar's Ministry of Finance, who represented the nation during discussions aimed at fostering economic collaboration.

According to Qatar News Agency, the meeting brought together undersecretaries from the GCC finance ministries to deliberate on pivotal issues. Key topics included central bank governance, the operations of the GCC Customs Union Authority, tax administration policies, and the functioning of the Gulf Common Market. The overarching objective was to enhance coordination efforts aimed at speeding up economic and developmental integration among the member states, a goal seen as crucial for the region's collective advancement.

Further, the committee reviewed a progress report from the General Secretariat, which detailed regional initiatives and the current status of free trade agreement negotiations with international blocs.
