Cairo: The State of Qatar participated in the 7th meeting of the joint committee composed of experts and representatives from the Ministries of Justice and Interior, alongside relevant authorities from various Arab countries. The focus of the meeting was to study the "draft Arab model law for preventing hate speech," and it took place at the Arab League's General Secretariat headquarters.
According to Qatar News Agency, Qatar was represented by Staff Col. Abdulhadi Saad Al Qahtani from the Ministry of Interior and Mohammed Salem Sultan Al Khawar from Qatar's Permanent Mission to the Arab League. The meeting's primary objective was to finalize the draft law, initially proposed by the Ministry of Justice of the State of Kuwait.
The draft law is set to be submitted to the Council of Arab Ministers of Justice. This step follows the council's decision at its 41st regular session, which called for a thorough study of the draft law in consideration of the observations provided by various Arab states.
