Alexandria: The State of Qatar participated in the 37th session of the Council of Arab Transport Ministers, which took place at the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT) in Alexandria, Egypt. Khaled Abdullah Al Ebrahim, First Secretary at the Permanent Mission of the State of Qatar to the Arab League, led Qatar's delegation at the meeting. According to Qatar News Agency, Al Ebrahim expressed Qatar's satisfaction with the cooperation experienced during its presidency of the previous session and wished success for the new session in enhancing Arab cooperation in transportation and logistics. He emphasized the importance of developing transportation infrastructure in the Arab region and promoting economic integration among Arab states to achieve sustainable development goals. He highlighted key agenda items such as the implementation of artificial intelligence in transportation, the development of a supply chain for green hydrogen, and the establishment of a regional center for ma naging ship traffic in the Bab Al Mandab Strait. He also mentioned plans to hold a workshop on developing an integrated supply chain for green hydrogen, emphasizing the role of clean energy in creating a sustainable economic environment in the Arab region. Al Ebrahim handed over the presidency of the session to the State of Palestine, expressing Qatar's support for Palestine in its new role. The Arab Ministers of Transport expressed gratitude to Qatar for its leadership in the previous session and extended their best wishes to Palestine. Ambassador Ali bin Ibrahim Al Malki, Assistant Secretary-General and Head of the Economic Affairs Sector at the Arab League, praised Qatar's contributions to joint Arab action in transportation, noting its advanced status in the field. The AASTMT is set to host an Arab-European workshop in collaboration with the European Union and the Arab League's Transport and Tourism Department. This workshop will focus on an integrated study for the green hydrogen supply chain project, showcasing pioneering efforts by Qatar and other Arab nations.
