Qatar Civil Aviation Authority issues a circular to airlines on the need of informing passengers of the regulations related to the disclosure of cash and valuables

The Qatar Civil Aviation Authority (QCAA) has issued a circular to all airlines that arrive in the State of Qatar on the need to inform all passengers onboard through inflight announcement (prior to arrival) of the regulations pertaining to declaration of cash and valuables when entering or leaving the State of Qatar. This shall be done in accordance with the instructions of the General Authority of Customs in the State of Qatar.

Any person upon entering or leaving the State of Qatar and in possession of any currency, bearer negotiable instruments, precious metals, or stones equivalent to or exceeding 50,000 Qatari Riyals or its equivalent in foreign currencies, must fill the declaration form and hand it over to the Customs Authorities. Noting that non or false declaration will lead to legal action by Qatari authorities. Declaration forms will be available upon arrival or departure in the immigration hall.
