Qatar Charity’s delegation distributes winter aid in Arsal camps

The delegation of Qatar Charity (QC), at the end of the visit to Lebanon, distributed winter relief aid to Syrian refugees and underprivileged Lebanese families in Arsal, as part of the ‘Qatar Relief Convoys’ organized by Qatar Charity within the framework of its ‘Warm Hearts’ winter campaign. This aims to deliver the Qatari aid to those most in need to contribute to meeting their winter needs by providing shelter kits, food items, and fuel.

The aid included food packages for 800 refugee families in 9 camps in Arsal, a town in Lebanon, in addition to many electric wheelchairs for people with disabilities, and winter kits that included warm clothes and heating materials. The aid also included the food packages for 800 needy Lebanese families in the same town.

Ahmmed Omar AlSherawi, Director of the Customer department, confirmed that all the convoys allocated for the Syrian refugees and Lebanese families have reached their beneficiaries, indicating that Qatar Charity would continue to support Syrian brothers everywhere to alleviate their suffering in winter.

During the first two days of the visit, the delegation provided aid in the Syrian refugee camps in Akkar and the Beqaa, in addition to distributing aid to needy Lebanese families. The delegation also visited the projects implemented by Qatar Charity in Lebanon.

Some Qatari activists are taking part in the ‘Qatar Relief Convoys’. “We participated in this campaign with a group of donors and volunteers from Qatar, including citizens and residents, and we managed to help the those most in need,” said Dr. Thani bin Ali Al Thani.

“The trip to Lebanon was successful and we managed to deliver the Qatari assistance to those who deserved it,” said Abd al-Rahman al-Hajri, a social activist. “We did not expect to see these tragic scenes, and this motivates us to provide more support through Qatar Charity,” added al-Hajri.

Asmaa Al-Hammadi, a journalist, indicated that the delegation has visited many camps, which helped them know and assess the needs of the refugees.

Fatima Al-Emadi, a volunteer photographer, expressed her happiness with participating in these convoys. She said that this is her fist field trip, which is an opportunity to feel the suffering of refugees and see their conditions closely.

“The situation is depressing and distressing, and the need of the refugees prompts us to do our best to help them,” said Ali Marafi, a social media influencer. He thanked Qatar Charity for the opportunity to convey the message to benefactors in Qatar that the refugees desperately need their support and donations.

The ‘Qatar Relief Convoys’, numbering 250, will continue to distribute aid to nearly half a million refugees, internally displaced persons (IDPs) and underprivileged families in six countries namely Lebanon, Turkey, Pakistan, Jordan, Syria, and Yemen.
