Qatar Charity’s ‘Alaqraboon’ app makes leap in delivering assistance within country

Qatar Charity (QC) has upgraded the ‘Aaqraboon’ app, which has made clear achievements in terms of receiving requests for assistance and delivering aid to deserving persons within the country.

This came as part of Qatar Charity’s continuous endeavors to develop technologies that serve humanitarian work, facilitate the provision of assistance to target groups within Qatar, and make the process of making donations easy.

Registration and other processes can be carried out easily through the recently upgraded version of the Aaqraboon’ app to request for assistance and make donations.

Features for Donors

The features of the app enable donors to easily view all local requests, integrate the donor’s profile in Qatar Charity’s app with the ‘Alaqraboon’ app, classify the value of aid according to the required amounts, view cases according to their place of residence, make quick and unconditional donations, and receive notifications about the request for any case that lives near the donor’s area.

Features for Beneficiary

The app helps beneficiaries obtain basic food supplies on a weekly basis directly and submit official documents for the first time to get all the advantages. When the beneficiary requests for some needs like education fees or health care expenses, he has to upload the documents for the current application only.

Anyone who has a file not older than 3 years can benefit from an amount of assistance of (QR 2000) when choosing any service and after the marketing of the value of the case is completed. Several requests can be submitted at any time, in addition to communicating with applicants directly via text messages and notifications.

The ‘Alaqraboon’ app helped provided many assistance and services such as food supplies, electrical appliances, household furniture, educational, health and treatment expenses, arrears of government fees, and assistance to those in debt.

The app classifies various aid requests according to their nature and value, including requests for specific foodstuffs and emergency need for medicines at a cost not exceeding QR 2000, and new requests for assistance that cost more than QR 2000.

It is worth noting that since the app was put into service in 2021, the number of aid requests has increased significantly, with 4,639 requests in 2022, and more than 2,146 requests in 2021. The total value of internal aid provided by Qatar Charity during the 5 years (2018-2022), reached (644,261,345) Qatari riyals, with an average of 70% of assistance for citizens and 30% of it for residents over the five years.
