Qatar Charity provides support for a destroyed school in Yemen

Within the framework of supporting the continuation of the educational process for the children of Yemen in Taiz Governorate, Qatar Charity rented a school building for a full academic year, so that the children could continue their education in an appropriate environment and prevent them from dropping out of school after their school was destroyed.

Qatar Charity distributed the school bag with all its requirements, as well as the school uniform for each male and female student, in addition to distributing incentives to teachers and paying the costs of renting a building for the school, considering the difficult conditions in the city of Taiz, whose schools are not qualified for the educational process. This project targeted 400 male and female students at an estimated cost of $10,000.

Wide welcome

This step was welcomed officially and popularly, as the principal of the school, Ms. Mona Al-Jamie, expressed her happiness at the students’ return to school and said: “After the school was destroyed, the educational process stopped and students began to drop out of education, and this is what made us look for a shelter for the students to study, and they only found an old and dilapidated building.” However, we were evicted from it due to non-payment of rent.”

Al-Jamai added: “It has come to us to gather students and educate them in the street, and no one paid any attention to us except Qatar Charity, which initiated a project to support the continuation of the educational process for Yemeni children in Taiz Governorate, Salah al-Din al-Ayyubi School. We thank the good people in Qatar who supported for the continuation of education.”

For his part, the Director General of the Office of Education in Taiz Governorate, Mr. Abdul Wasea Shaddad, said: “This is the first project of Qatar Charity in Taiz for education, and we hope that these projects will continue to include several schools in the city. The Qatar Charity initiative responded to the distress call for a project to support continuing the educational process.

On the other hand, the Director of the Education Office in the city of Salt in Taiz Governorate, Mr. Muhammad Abdo Hassan, said: “The high rent in the region was an obstacle in finding a building for students, so the intervention of Qatar Charity had a great impact in remedying the problem and continuing education, and this is thanks to the generosity of our brothers in Qatar and what we have been accustomed to.” Among them, they are always pioneers of goodness and giving, and we hope that they will continue to help the rest of the schools in Taiz.”
