Qatar Charity lays foundation stone for Islamic center in Kosovo

Qatar Charity (QC) laid the foundation stone for a qualitative Islamic center in Lipjan, Kosovo, in a ceremony attended by a delegation from Qatar Charity and local figures. The QR-8-million center will consist of a three-storey mosque, an Islamic cultural center, and shops.

The ceremony was held in the presence of Mr. Naim Ternava, the General President of the Islamic Community – Kosovo, Mr. Ymri Ahmeti, Mayor of Lipjan Municipality, and Mr. Nawaf Abdullah al-Hammadi, CEO’s assistant for the International Programs and Development sector at Qatar Charity.

“This Islamic center is a gift from the people of Qatar for the people of Kosovo, and the donors of Qatar will continue to extend a helping hand to the people of Kosovo,” said Mr. Nawaf Abdullah al-Hammadi, CEO’s assistant for the International Programs and Development sector at Qatar Charity. Al Hammadi thanked the General President of the Islamic Community for cooperation with Qatar Charity’s Kosovo office. He also thanked the mayor of Lipjan for his efforts in the success of this project.

Mr. Naim Ternava, the General President of the Islamic Community – Kosovo, praised Qatar’s efforts in supporting the people of Kosovo in all fields for more than 20 years. He emphasized the constructive role of Qatar Charity in implementing development and cultural projects that contribute to the stability of the people in Kosovo.

Mr. Ymri Ahmeti, Mayor of Lipjan, thanked Qatar Charity for its distinguished role in the field of development and for supporting those most in need, hoping for the continuation of such support in the future.

It is worth mentioning that last month, Qatar Charity laid the foundation stone for two major health projects that include a health center in the Gjilan municipality and an emergency center in the Podujeve municipality in Kosovo.

Qatar Charity has been working in Kosovo for more than 23 years in cooperation with government agencies in several fields, including social care. It sponsors more than 3,500 people and develops capabilities through the Qatar Training Center, which has trained 5,500 people. Qatar Charity also implements projects in the fields of health, education, water, economic empowerment, relief, and social care. More than 2,600 projects have so far been implemented.
