Qatar Charity delivers urgent aid to earthquake victims in Turkey, Syria

As part of their brotherly and humanitarian duty, the field teams of Qatar Charity (QC) began providing urgent relief aid to those affected by the earthquake that has devastated areas across southeast Turkey and northern Syria.

This humanitarian aid comes in conjunction with the launch of Qatar Charity’s relief campaign titled ‘Save Earthquake Victims in Turkey and Northern Syria’.

In response to the urgent humanitarian needs, Qatar Charity began to distribute 27,000 ready-to-eat meals to the earthquake victims equally in Syria and Turkey, with a value of 400,000 Qatari riyals. Besides, a convoy of 4 aid consignments moved from Doha. It contains medical supplies, first aid, clothes, dates, and food items worth more than half a million riyals.

At the same time, preparations are underway to implement 30 relief convoys that will include food and non-food items worth 5.1 million riyals, bringing the total aid value of the first phase to more than 6 million riyals.

A QR 21.9 million plan is currently being prepared for an urgent response worth QR 7.3 million, and early recovery and reconstruction projects worth QR 14.6 million.

Given the tragic humanitarian situation, Qatar Charity urges benefactors in Qatar to support the relief campaign to help the affected and contribute to lessening their suffering.

People can also donate through Qatar Charity’s website (https://qch.qa/tsn) and app (qch.qa/q/app), in addition to dialing hotline 44290000 for donating. Donations can also be made at Qatar Charity’s branches and collection points across the country.

Due to the strong earthquake, the internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Syria and refugees in Turkey are going through a new humanitarian tragedy, which has made their living conditions further worse. Hundreds of earthquake victims need treatment and medicine urgently, while hundreds of others have become homeless, with no food.
