Doha:Qatar Chamber has engaged in talks with Sri Lanka to enhance economic cooperation and explore investment opportunities available to the private sectors of both nations, aiming to strengthen communication between their business communities.

According to Qatar News Agency, the meeting was held between Mohamed bin Ahmed bin Twar Al Kuwari, First Vice Chairman of Qatar Chamber, and Arun Hemachandra, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Employment of Sri Lanka.

The discussions covered investment possibilities in Sri Lanka, particularly in the agricultural sector, and explored potential cooperation in other areas of mutual interest. Al Kuwari emphasized the significance of bolstering economic and trade relations between the two countries, highlighting Qatar Chamber's commitment to facilitating communication and acquainting Qatari businesspeople with investment opportunities.

Hemachandra extended an invitation to Qatar Chamber and Qatari businesspeople to visit Sri Lanka to explore investment opportunities and to gain insights into the business environment and the benefits offered by the Sri Lankan economy. He also invited them to participate in the 'Sri Lanka Expo 2027,' which is scheduled for January 2027.
