Doha: Qatar Career Development Center (QCDC), established by Qatar Foundation, concluded the largest edition of the "My Career - My Future" job-shadowing program. This initiative, organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, the Ministry of Labour, the Ministry of Sports and Youth, and the Civil Service and Government Development Bureau, marked its eighth successful year.
According to Qatar News Agency, the closing ceremony took place at Multaqa, Education City Student Center, and was attended by prominent government officials, national partners, career development stakeholders, students, parents, and representatives from host organizations. Remarks were delivered by HE Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, Dr. Ibrahim bin Saleh Al Nuaimi, and Executive Director of QCDC, Saad Abdulla Al-Kharji. The event was also graced by HE President of the Civil Service and Government Development Bureau, Dr. Abdulaziz bin Nasser bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, alongside representatives from various government entities.
Executive Director Saad Abdulla Al-Kharji highlighted the program's success in expanding its reach, emphasizing the collaborative model between government, education, and industry sectors. He noted that this partnership strengthens career guidance as a shared national responsibility, laying a robust foundation for future talent development in Qatar.
HE Al Nuaimi, during his address, reiterated the Ministry's dedication to guiding students in making informed academic and career choices. He pointed out that the "My Career - My Future" program plays a crucial role in linking classroom learning with real-world workplace exposure, thereby expanding students' understanding of potential study and career paths.
Secondary school students who participated in the program received certificates recognizing their completion of the training, which was facilitated by partnerships with several ministries and government bodies. Host organizations were acknowledged for their professional support and guidance throughout the program.
In conjunction with the closing ceremony, a university fair was organized by the Center, providing students the opportunity to explore higher education options. This fair allowed them to understand the connection between local academic programs and the professions experienced during the job-shadowing initiative.
