Qatar, Burundi Ink Cooperation Agreement in Labour Field

Doha, March 07 (QNA) – The Government of the State of Qatar and the Government of the Republic of Burundi signed Tuesday an agreement to enhance joint cooperation in the fields of labour.

The memorandum was signed on behalf of the Government of the State of Qatar by HE Minister of Labour Dr. Ali bin Samikh Al Marri, and on behalf of the Republic of Burundi by HE Minister of Foreign Affairs and Development Cooperation of the Republic of Burundi Albert Shingiro.

The signing of the agreement comes within the framework of the cooperation strategy implemented by the State of Qatar with various governments and international organizations in labour sector to enhance cooperation and exchange of expertise and best international experiences.

According to the agreement, cooperation is focused on regulating the recruitment of Burundian workers to the State of Qatar, and work to simplify and facilitate procedures between the two parties in the field of recruitment and benefit from the skills and specializations in Burundi.

After the signing ceremony, the two sides discussed ways to develop bilateral relations in issues related to the labor sector, and reviewed mechanisms to enhance and support them during the coming period.
