Doha: The State of Qatar and the Russian Federation have formalized a memorandum of understanding (MOU) aimed at advancing technical cooperation in tax administration. This strategic agreement is designed to facilitate the exchange of expertise and bolster digital tax systems between the two nations.

According to Qatar News Agency, the agreement was signed by HE President of the General Tax Authority (GTA) Khalifa bin Jassim Al Jaham Kuwari and HE Commissioner of the Federal Tax Service of the Russian Federation Daniil Egorov. The MOU emphasizes digital transformation strategies, taxpayer-centric administration models, compliance frameworks, debt management, and the development of future tax incentive policies through collaborative initiatives and training programs.

The partnership involves the exchange of information, joint training programs, seminars, working sessions, and mutual visits. These efforts aim to build institutional capacity and improve operational efficiency for both tax authorities.

This MOU is in line with GTA's strategy to broaden international cooperation and implement global best practices, thereby elevating the national tax ecosystem to meet international standards.
