Program Helps Blind People to Follow World Cup Matches Launched

The Translation and Interpreting Institute (TII) in Hamad Bin Khalifa University, in partnership with the Centre for Access to Football in Europe, launched the second edition of its training program in the field of audio descriptive commentary on the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 matches.

Audio descriptive commentary is a specialized service that allows visually impaired and blind fans to fully enjoy watching matches live in the stadium with their fellow fans. The successful participants in the first edition of the training program offered by the institute provided descriptive audio commentary service in the Arabic language during the matches of the FIFA Arab Cup, hosted by the State of Qatar in 2021, and received positive feedback.
