Prime Minister Opens 35th Doha International Book Fair

Doha: HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani inaugurated the 35th edition of the Doha International Book Fair, which will run through May 23 at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center. The event promises a rich collection of literary and cultural works, attracting participants and visitors from across the globe.

According to Qatar News Agency, the exhibition features 520 publishing houses from 37 countries, spread across 910 booths. This gathering presents a platform for local, regional, and international literary contributions. The opening ceremony saw the presence of Their Excellencies sheikhs, ministers, heads of diplomatic missions, senior officials, and esteemed guests of the fair.

During his tour, HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs explored a variety of pavilions showcasing publications from Qatari, Arab, and international publishing houses. The fair also displays the latest books, manuscripts, and cultural works presented by the Ministry of Culture, government entities, and participating cultural institutions. In a special initiative, His Excellency launched the "This Is Qatar" book project, marking it as the guest of honor initiative for this year's fair.
