Philippine Airlines Expects 86% Pre-Pandemic Capacity By December

The aviation industry within the Philippines is starting to see near pre-pandemic levels of air travel for the year-end as significant holiday events such as All Souls Days and the Christmas season approach. Philippine carriers are seeing at least seven in 10 seats booked and are also gearing up to increase frequencies, providing an expectation to hit at least 85% of pre-pandemic capacities during this year’s fourth quarter.

Cebu Pacific gears up for the holidays

Also known as All Souls Day, the Undas period is largely significant in the Philippines. Holiday demand is expected to surge since it would be the first time since 2019 that cemeteries would be opened to the public, as low-cost carrier Cebu Pacific’s spokesperson Carmina Romero emphasized:To capture the surging domestic holiday demand, Cebu Pacific will offer seat sales until mid-October to capture the surging domestic holiday demand. The budget carrier will also widen its international network by adding more flights to Bali, Bangkok, Dubai, Fukuoka, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Hong Kong, Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, and Taipei this month.
