PHCC to Launch Back-to-School Campaign Sunday

Doha: The School Health Program and Services at the Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) is preparing to launch its 2026-2027 Back-to-School campaign under the slogan "Healthy Bodies Build Strong Nations." The campaign will run from August 30 to September 10 across all public schools and kindergartens.

According to Qatar News Agency, the campaign is part of an integrated vision aimed at promoting sustainable healthy behaviors among students and reinforcing the idea that health is not merely an individual responsibility, but a fundamental pillar in creating a productive and prosperous society. This contributes to achieving Qatar's vision for sustainable human development.

The campaign will focus on several priority health areas, including promoting healthy sleep habits, reducing excessive use of electronic devices, encouraging water consumption, promoting healthy nutrition and physical activity, developing self-regulation and personal responsibility skills, supporting mental and emotional health, and encouraging positive social behaviors in the school environment.

This year's campaign also incorporates a practical approach centered on promoting and monitoring healthy behaviors through weekly tracking cards and self-assessment tools, helping students monitor and improve their daily habits. This approach aims to convert health-focused messaging into sustainable daily practices.

The campaign extends beyond students to involve parents, teachers, and nursing staff as key partners in supporting and reinforcing healthy behaviors at school and home. Dr. Layla Abdulla Aldahnaim, Manager of School Health Program and Services at PHCC and Community Medicine Consultant, remarked that the campaign is a strategic step toward creating a health-conscious generation that is better able to adopt healthy and sustainable lifestyles.

The campaign includes a comprehensive series of awareness and interactive programs and activities catering to different age groups. These include educational lectures, classroom and extracurricular activities, workshops, health education sessions, awareness-raising content for parents, and tools for monitoring healthy behaviors that help students practice what they learn both inside and outside school.

To enhance student participation and reinforce learning through practice, the campaign will feature the "Healthy Bodies Build Strong Nations" competition, targeting students in public schools across all educational stages. This competition aims to encourage creativity and innovation when discussing health-related matters and healthy lifestyles.

As one of the campaign's main accompanying activities, the competition will actively engage students in spreading health-related messaging within the school community by producing creative works that demonstrate students' understanding of the campaign's themes. It will contribute to strengthening health awareness among students and their families.

The competition focuses on the campaign's key topics, including digital balance, healthy sleep, proper nutrition, drinking water, physical activity, emotional regulation, and mental readiness for learning. These themes highlight the connection between physical and mental health, academic success, and quality of life.
