Palestine’s underprivileged families receive house rents from Qatar Charity

Qatar Charity (QC), with the support of the philanthropists in Qatar, and in cooperation with Palestine’s Ministry of Social Development, has provided house rents for dozens of underprivileged families in the Gaza Strip, to create safer and healthier living environment for the beneficiary family members.

The project, which has benefited more than 100 families, aims to provide adequate housing for the underprivileged, the deprived, and those with low income in the five governorates of the Gaza Strip.

The beneficiaries were selected through a socio-economic case study, which revealed that they needed assistance to pay their house rents.

The project seeks to support the partners to reduce the adverse effects of overpopulation in makeshift and inappropriate neighborhoods and villages, in addition to contributing to improving the living conditions of the underprivileged families in the Gaza Strip.

The beneficiaries of the project expressed their great happiness with this support, indicating that this project provided them and their families with a safe shelter.

Mustafa Al-Sakani, an unemployed head of a household, thanked the philanthropists of Qatar and Qatar Charity for providing a safe home that protects his family from the cold of winter, expressing his overwhelming feeling of joy over receiving the house rent.

“We are very happy with this project, which brought me and my children together,” said Siham Shaat, a beneficiary, noting that she was unable to pay the rent.

It is worth noting that Qatar Charity implements several other projects in the Gaza Strip to contribute to providing a dignified life to underprivileged families. The projects include providing cash and in-kind assistance, building homes and supporting the sectors most in need.
