Doha: Ooredoo has announced the launch of Al Abraj, a standalone company set to independently manage and operate Ooredoo Qatar's passive tower infrastructure assets within the country.
According to Qatar News Agency, the launch of Al Abraj comes after receiving necessary regulatory approvals in Qatar, including the green light from the Communications Regulatory Authority (CRA). This development represents the first operational carve-out under Ooredoo's TowerCo initiative, which is a significant step in Ooredoo's broader portfolio optimization strategy.
Ooredoo's Board of Directors expressed gratitude to the regulatory authorities in Qatar for their support during the approval process, signaling a collaborative effort in advancing the telecom infrastructure landscape in Qatar.
