Muscat: Oman recorded a trade surplus of OR 3.555 billion through the end of July, down 34.6 percent from the OR 5.432 billion posted during the same period last year, according to official data released Sunday.
According to Qatar News Agency, the National Centre for Statistics and Information said total merchandise exports reached OR 13.476 billion by the end of July, marking a 9.2 percent decline compared to OR 14.839 billion in the same period last year.
The drop was primarily attributed to a 17 percent decrease in oil and gas exports, which totaled OR 8.582 billion, down from OR 10.344 billion a year earlier.
Non-oil exports, however, rose by 11.3 percent to OR 3.890 billion, up from OR 3.497 billion in the same period last year. Re-exports saw a modest increase of 0.5 percent, reaching OR 1.004 billion compared to OR 999 million previously.
Meanwhile, Oman’s total merchandise imports climbed to OR 9.921 billion by the end of July 2025, a 5.5 percent increase from OR 9.407 billion in the corresponding period last year.
