Oil Prices Hold Steady as Brent Crude Surpasses $100 Per Barrel

Doha: Oil prices remained stable on Thursday, following Brent crude's surge above the $100 per barrel mark. This stability comes amidst traders preparing for potential increased supply disruptions, as tensions escalate with Iran and the US launching significant attacks on shipping in their ongoing conflict.

According to Qatar News Agency, Brent crude futures experienced a slight increase of 0.1%, reaching $101.34 a barrel. Meanwhile, US West Texas Intermediate crude saw a 0.5% rise, settling at $96.55 a barrel. These developments came on the heels of a recent announcement by the US Energy Information Administration, which adjusted its oil price forecasts upwards for the remainder of this year and the next. The adjustments were attributed to a projected decline in global oil inventories, driven by reduced supplies from the Middle East.
