Oil Prices Decline as Brent Crude Falls to $84.95 per Barrel

Georgetown: Oil prices turned lower on Thursday after paring their early gains, as traders took profits. Brent crude futures slipped 24 cents, or 0.28%, to $84.95 a barrel, while US West Texas Intermediate futures were down 15 cents, or 0.19%, to $79.45 a barrel.

According to Qatar News Agency, Brent had gained almost $1 earlier in the session, and both contracts remained close to one-month highs. Despite the early rise in prices, the market witnessed a downturn as traders opted to secure profits, impacting the earlier positive momentum.
