The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) strongly condemned the ongoing Israeli military aggression against Lebanon, as an extension of Israel's war crimes and continuous violations of international law and relevant UN resolutions. In a statement issued on Tuesday, the OIC affirmed its support for efforts aimed at preserving Lebanon's security, stability and sovereignty over its territory, and held Israel, the occupying power, fully responsible for this dangerous escalation that threatens the security and stability of the entire region. The OIC called on the UN Security Council to assume its responsibilities in maintaining international peace and security, to start implementing Resolution 2735 for an immediate and comprehensive ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, and to intervene urgently to create sustainable stability in southern Lebanon through the full and comprehensive implementation of relevant UN Security Council resolutions, including Resolution 1701, by putting a final end to the Israeli occupation and its continuous violations of international law.
