Advisor to HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Official Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dr. Majed bin Mohammed Al Ansari participated in the Middle East Global Summit, held on the margin of the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA 78) in New York.
Dr. Al Ansari spoke during the summit about the State of Qatar’s diplomatic vision and its successful mediations in several complicated crisis files, pointing to the mediation between the United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran that resulted in the two countries reaching an agreement to exchange detainees, which already started on Monday.
He explained that the State of Qatar always seeks to establish balanced relations with all parties, to become an impartial and acceptable mediator required by all parties in many conflicts at the regional and international levels, stressing the State of Qatar’s constant aim to be a positive mediator to enhance security and stability in the region.
The official spokesman also touched on the effective role of the State of Qatar in Afghanistan, and its keenness not to isolate the country or for it to become a haven for terrorist groups, stressing that the State of Qatar stands by the Afghan people to ensure that they obtain all their rights.
