Amman: The Ministry of Education announced the successful completion of elections for student parliamentary councils across schools in the Kingdom for grades 5-12. According to Jordan News Agency, the ministry emphasized that these councils are designed to increase student involvement in the development and review of school development plans. Students are encouraged to offer suggestions that could improve communication strategies within their institutions. The elected student councils will also focus on nurturing a generation capable of effective planning and management. The ministry highlighted that these bodies are expected to foster democratic principles and the values of dialogue and tolerance among students. Additionally, the ministry stated that these councils will engage in research on topics relevant to both their schools and the broader society. They are tasked with devising solutions to these issues in collaboration with educational counselors, official institutions, and civil society organizatio ns. The student councils are also responsible for creating and executing initiatives aimed at enhancing the educational process and the overall school environment. Prior to the elections, the Ministry of Education conducted training sessions for school principals. These sessions were intended to outline the electoral process and introduce follow-up and evaluation techniques to ensure the effectiveness of the student councils.
