Muscat: Muscat Stock Exchange (MSX) recorded new gains last week, pushing the benchmark index above the 4,930-point level, recording a weekly increase of 80 points. According to Qatar News Agency, the Services Index rose by 82 points, closing at 1,919 points. The financial index increased by 32 points, while the Shariah Index surged to 477 points, up by 7 points. Conversely, the Industrial Index declined by 39 points. Trading activity was elevated last week, with a total turnover of OMR 121.2 million. The number of executed transactions rose by 28%, surpassing 13,700 trades. Prices of 32 securities increased, while 32 declined, and 23 remained unchanged at their previous levels.
