Doha: The horse Mohtaram, owned by Al Ghazali Stud, captured the Al Beshariyah Cup for Purebred Arabian Novice Horses (4-7 years old, 1,900m) after winning the main race held this evening. Trained by Mohammed Al Ghazali and ridden by Marco Casamento, Mohtaram delivered an impressive performance to claim his first career victory in his debut appearance in Qatar. Rashid Saeed Adiba, Head of Racing Operations, Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club, crowned the winners.
According to Qatar News Agency, in the other races, Achmed, owned by Wathnan Racing, won the opening race for locally bred Purebred Arabian novice horses (4-7 years old, 1,700m) with trainer Alban de Mieulle and jockey Abdullah Rashid Faleh Al Hajri. The second race, for locally bred Thoroughbred novices (Class 6, 3-7 years old, 1,200m), was won by Al Sharia, owned and trained by Ibrahim Khaled Al Ahmed and ridden by Alberto Sanna.
Midnight City, owned by Mohammed Ibrahim Issa Mohammed Al Fadala, claimed victory in the third race for Thoroughbreds (Handicap 45-65, 3 years and older, 1,200m) with trainer Hamad Al Jehani and jockey Stefan Mazur. The fourth race, for locally bred Purebred Arabians (Handicap 55-75, 3 years and older, 1,700m), went to Aneef Zakher, owned and trained by Eng. Osama Omar Ismail Al Dafaa, with Marco Casamento in the saddle.
In the fifth race, for Purebred Arabians (Handicap 0-75, 3 years and older, 1,200m), Jasmina Du Soleil, owned by Sharq Stud, secured first place under trainer Mohammed Ahmed Mohammed Al Sulaiti and jockey Hamad Meshlesh Al Khayarin. The sixth and final race, for Thoroughbreds (Handicap 80-100, 4 years and older, 1,700m), was won by One Nation, owned by Hamad Ali Hamad Abdullah Al Mulla, trained by Ahmed Al Jehani, and ridden by Arnaud De Lepine.
