Doha:According to Qatar News Agency, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MOCI) in Qatar recently held its fourth workshop of 2026, focusing on combating trademark infringement and inspecting genuine and counterfeit products. This event was organized through the Intellectual Property Rights Protection Department and in collaboration with the Gulf BPG, attracting representatives from various government authorities in the country.

The workshop aimed to promote intellectual property rights and raise awareness on how to detect and prevent trademark infringement. Participants discussed state-of-the-art techniques for counterfeiting commercial products, which are intended to enhance intellectual property rights protection and foster a secure and enduring business environment.

Key themes of the event included identifying signs and indicators of counterfeit products and trademark infringement. Additionally, the workshop reviewed modern methods for distinguishing between genuine and counterfeit products, contributing to more efficient inspection and surveillance efforts in line with applicable regulations.

The ministry reiterated its dedication to ongoing awareness and training programs to enhance the skills of professional workforces and law enforcement officers. Furthermore, MOCI emphasized the importance of strengthening coordination and cooperation with relevant stakeholders and the private sector to create a business environment in Qatar that is secure and attractive for investment.
