Ministry of Interior Observes World Drug Day-2022

The General Directorate of Drug Enforcement at the Ministry of Interior celebrated today, June 30, 2022, at Mall of Qatar, the World Drug Day 2022, with the participation of a number of institutions and official bodies in the country.

The opening was attended by HE Ahmed Abdullah Al Jamal, President of the General Authority of Customs, Brig. Ahmed Khalifa Al Kuwari, Director General of Drug Enforcement, and a number of directors of departments and officers at the Ministry of Interior.

This year’s celebration comes under the theme (Addressing drug challenges in health and humanitarian crisis) and will last for three days until July 2. Lt. Col. Muhammad Abdullah Al-Khater, Director of Studies and International Affairs at the Drug Enforcement, stated that the celebration is to join the international community on this occasion and to highlight the efforts made by the Drug Enforcement Directorate and other supporting bodies in the field of drug control.

The associated exhibition hosts awareness pavilions of a number of state institutions and departments of the Ministry of Interior, to present awareness messages about the scourge of drugs and their dangers to the individual and society.

The exhibition provides an opportunity for the public to introduce the sectors working in the fight against drugs, and to highlight the dangers of drugs and their harm to individuals and society.
