Ministry of Education to Hold Annual Pedagogical Meeting Monday

The Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE) is due to hold the three-day annual pedagogical meeting starting Monday within its preparations to launch the new academic year 2023-2024 in the presence of HE Minister of Education and Higher Education Buthaina bint Ali Al Jabr Al Nuaimi.

Assistant Undersecretary for Education Affairs at MoEHE Maha Zayed Al Ruwaili emphasized that the meeting primarily aims to create an atmosphere to receive students whose number is reaching 132,000 male and female students this year, in addition to providing all potential that contributes to providing high-quality education to all students.

The annual pedagogical meeting is a critical forum to build communities and help achieve MoEHE’s strategic objectives and is a promising opportunity to share and utilize expertise in optimizing educational strategies and practices in schools, Al Ruwaili added.

Director of the Training and Educational Development Center at MoEHE Eman Salman Al Mohannadi said the annual pedagogical meeting this year will feature the organization of a wide range of training programs for school leaderships, academic and administrative cadres, as HE Minister of MoEHE will meet school leaderships, alongside academic and administrative cadres at Qatar National Convention Centre.

She added that Her Excellency welcomes the new female teachers who are joining the teaching profession from graduates of both the “good start” initiative and the “Tamheen” program.

A panel discussion will be held to address the career relations in educational institutions and their impact on optimizing educational outcomes, she added, outlining that the training programs that will be presented during the aforementioned meeting will be diverse, as such programs primarily target all educational systems, where programs have been devoted to leaders of public schools, academic representatives, administrative representatives, alongside representatives of kindergarten affairs.

The overall programs, she said, will focus on corporate culture, ethics, and values of work and sustainable development in schools, as well as career paths, career advancement, and preparing instructors in schools, Al Mohannadi outlined.

In addition, curriculum development teachers and coordinators participate in a training camp at schools which includes virtual training workshops, along with practical applications that essentially focus on Artificial Intelligence strategies, as well as students’ future thinking skills with their diverse educational phases.

Al Mohannadi pointed out that this year will feature a qualitative focus on kindergarten female teachers through presenting professional programs specifically dedicated to them in parallel with the launch of 4 kindergartens for the 3-year-old groups as a pilot phase, affirming the center’s keenness to provide training programs specifically tailored for private education teachers which focus on appropriate pedagogical mechanisms to deal with disabled children, child’s progression delay from birth until reaching 9-year old, in addition to strategies of teaching students with learning disabilities.

She pointed out that administrators in schools will have appropriate training opportunities for their work specializations, as incentive and awareness programs have been allocated for them, including everything related to institutional reputation.

The organization of the pedagogical meeting comes within the framework of MoEHE’s persistent efforts aimed at upgrading the leadership and professional skills of its all staff, especially academic and administrative cadres in schools through career development and training to ultimately develop their performance and bolster their abilities to further predict challenges and actively contribute to achieving objectives that are relevant to their terms of reference.
