Minister of Social Development and Chair of the Ministerial Committee for Women's Empowerment, Wafa Bani Mustafa, launched on Wednesday the national childcare campaign "Our Children Are Our Priority" at the Haya Cultural Center on Tuesday evening. The campaign is a collaborative initiative involving the Ministerial Committee for Women's Empowerment and several key ministries, including Social Development, Education, Planning and International Cooperation, Local Administration, as well as the National Council for Family Affairs, the Social Security Corporation, the Jordanian National Commission for Women's Affairs, and the World Bank's Mashreq Program for Women's Empowerment. During a dialogue session held at the campaign's launch, Bani Mustafa emphasized that child care is a crucial program aligned with the priorities and initiatives of the social protection sector under the Economic Modernization Vision. She highlighted the significance of the nursery and childcare sectors, noting that the "Our Children A re Our Priority" campaign aims to provide comprehensive social and qualitative care services. These services include rehabilitation, education, and health care for children, ensuring they receive the best possible support. Bani Mustafa further explained that the Ministry of Social Development views the childcare sector as a promising field with the potential to create new job opportunities, contributing to the broader economic goals of the country. She praised the collaborative efforts of partner organizations, underscoring the importance of a new strategy and national framework for childcare and early childhood development. This framework, developed by the National Council for Family Affairs, is expected to have a positive impact, complemented by the Ministry of Social Development's achievements in advancing legislation related to nurseries and childcare. These achievements include updating nursery regulations and issuing three key guidelines for public sector nurseries, institutional nurseries, and nurser ies within private workplaces, as well as introducing instructions for registering home-based nurseries. Bani Mustafa highlighted the integration of efforts among all partner agencies, which is expected to enhance childcare services and create sustainable job opportunities within this vital sector. The dialogue session featured contributions from key figures, including the Secretary-General of the Jordanian National Commission for Women's Affairs, Maha Ali, Secretary-General of the National Council for Family Affairs, Muhammad Maqdadi, Director of the General Education Department, Ahmed Masa'afah, and World Bank Representative Holly Benner. The launch event also included a presentation, a main campaign video shared on social media platforms by the campaign's partner organizations, and special activities for children.
