Minister of Labor Engages with Global Counterparts at Islamic Conference in Doha


Doha: HE Minister of Labor, Dr. Ali bin Samikh Al Marri, engaged in discussions today with several ministers attending the Sixth Session of the Islamic Conference of Labour Ministers, taking place in Doha.



According to Qatar News Agency, Dr. Al Marri held meetings with key figures including HE Azar Bayramov, Director General of the OIC Labor Center, and HE Chaudhry Salik Hussain, the Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development of Pakistan. He also met with HE Joseph Hamilton, Presidential Adviser of Guyana, and HE Fassoun Coulibaly, Minister of Labour, Civil Service and Social Dialogue of Mali.



Further discussions were held with HE Dr. Khalid Mahmoud Al-Bakkar, Minister of Labour of Jordan, HE Mohamed Gebran, Minister of Labour of Egypt, HE Ali Ahmed Haidar, Minister of Higher Education, Labour and Skills Development of Maldives, HE Eng. Ali Al-Abed Al-Rida, Minister of Labour and Rehabilitation of Libya, and HE Soleha Kholmahmadzoda, Minister of Labour, Migration and Employment of Tajikistan. The meetings focused on enhancing joint cooperation in the labour sector and addressed ways to strengthen these relationships.



The discussions also explored strategies to address challenges facing labour markets in the context of rapid global changes. Emphasis was placed on enhancing collective efforts during the ministerial session to support nationalisation programs and initiatives. The ministers also discussed developing national competencies, promoting social protection, ensuring fair employment, keeping pace with technological advancements, and fostering economic empowerment across Member States.
