Lebanese Tourism Minister to QNA: Qatar Is role Model in Security, Sustainable Tourism

HE Minister of Tourism in the Lebanese caretaker government Eng. Walid Nassar stated that the State of Qatar constitutes a role model in security and sustainable tourism development in light of its achievements over the past years.

In a statement to Qatar News Agency on the sidelines of the 3rd Arab Tourism Security Forum, which began Tuesday in Doha, His Excellency explained that tourism will not flourish, achieve its desired goals, or become sustainable without security, adding that the State of Qatar has succeeded in this field, pointing to the great success achieved in securing visitors to the country during the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.

He underlined the State of Qatar provided an important experience in securing the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, and succeeded in this great challenge, which inspired the rest of the countries in the region to host, organize and secure major events, in addition to other developed countries benefiting from the security standards that Qatar implemented during the tourna
ment.

HE Eng. Walid Nassar stressed that security is an essential pillar for the development of the tourism sector, which necessitated the organization of such Arab forums to shed light on ways to enhance joint cooperation and exchange experiences regarding tourism security.

Regarding the unified Arab vision for developing Arab tourism, he pointed out that Lebanon has adopted a new initiative for promoting tourism under the name “Arabian Roots and Routes,” adding that this initiative was launched on the sidelines of Lebanons participation in the World Tourism Day activities in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, which is open to all Arab countries to join with the aim of promoting sustainable tourism in the Arab world.
