KUWAIT: Visit Visas opening soon

After a brief suspension of visit visas for almost one and half year,  the Ministry of Interior is heading to reopen visit visas for expats who wish to visit Kuwait. All types of visit visas (Family, Commercial and Tourist) will be allowed with specific conditions after the Cabinet Ministers approvals in October. This comes after Kuwait has begun its procedures to return to normal life starting with direct flights with various countries, increase in operational capacity at Kuwait International Airport and other steps and procedures due to decline in coronavirus cases.
Currently commercial and family visit visas are being issued only through the committee of the corona emergency team from the Council of Ministers, reports Al Rai. The majority of visas are issued on request by the medical fraternity and some for professionals which are required by the labor market such as advisors, engineers, technicians and teachers. Other cases are studied and evaluated.
From a humanitarian point of view to reunify with the families, children and spouses are granted visit visas, but these are in very limited numbers where the committee of Council of Ministers approves.
Currently 150,000 residence violators are in Kuwait and there is no intention to give them a deadline to settle their issue again after the airport is opened and life returns to normal. The plan is to arrest them in their areas and deport them.
390,000 expats lost their residence permit as they were stranded outside Kuwait and were unable to return back as airports were closed.
