Kuwait city: Kuwait strongly condemned the Israeli Knesset’s preliminary approval of two draft laws aimed at imposing Israeli sovereignty over the occupied West Bank and one of its settlements. In a statement issued Wednesday, the Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs described the move as a blatant violation of international law and relevant UN Security Council resolutions, particularly Resolution 2234, which denounces Israeli settlement activity and affirms its illegality.
According to Qatar News Agency, Kuwait renewed its call on the international community and the Security Council to fulfill their legal and moral responsibilities by halting such unlawful practices and deterring expansionist policies that undermine prospects for peace and the two-state solution. The statement also reaffirmed Kuwait’s unwavering support for the Palestinian people and their legitimate right to establish an independent state based on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.
