Khalid Bin Rashid Al Mohannadi’s ALJUMAYLIYAH scores at ParisLongchamp

ALJUMAYLIYAH (GB) (Olympic Glory x Aldayha) won the Prix Major Fridolin at ParisLongchamp on Sunday 13 June gaining her third success. The four-year-old filly is trained by Edouard Monfort and she carries the colours of Khalid Bin Rashid Al Mohannadi. With Olivier Peslier in the saddle, she managed to snatch victory in the Class 2 seven-furlong race for four-year-olds and older in spite of the wide draw.

Drawn wide in 16, ALJUMAYLIYAH was taken back in the early stages before making a move around the outside of the field and producing a remarkable turn of foot to secure victory by the smallest of margins. The Miss AS. Crombez-trained and Miss Aurelien Lemaitre-ridden RODERICK (GB) (Pastoral Pursuits x Reeling N’ Rocking) was the close runner-up. The runner-up’s stablemate SNOWBALL JACKSON (GB) (No Nay Never x Emeralds Spirit) was a further half-length in third under jockey Gregory Benoist.

It was never going to be easy with the wide draw” stated the winning jockey Olivier Peslier, “and she took a bit of time to get going, but she produced something special at the finish there and won very well”

ALJUMAYLIYAH was placed in three Listed races last year. Bred by Al Shaqab Racing, her second dam GALISTIC (Galileo), was a Listed winner over 2,800m. Her sire OLYMPIC GLORY (Choisir) stands at Haras de Bouquetot for owners Al Shaqab Racing.
