Jordan’s food industry to take stage at SIAL Canada Tuesday

Major Jordanian companies specializing in the food industry are set to showcase their products at the 18th edition of SIAL Canada food fair, which will kick off in Toronto on Tuesday. The three-day event, which is one of the largest international food fairs, is an opportunity for Jordanian businesses to demonstrate the quality and diversity of their products to a global audience, including Arabic sweets, spices, thyme, nuts, and coffee, according to a statement by the Jordan Exporters Association (JEA) on Monday. “By displaying their finest products and innovations in the food industry, Jordanian enterprises will network with potential customers from Canada and other countries, especially those with which Jordan has free trade agreements,” the statement added. JEA President Ahmed Khodari said that SIAL Canada is one of the most significant international exhibitions specialized in the food industry in North America, renowned for its focus on high-quality food products and its ability to draw a wide variety of exhibitors from across the world. “Through facilitating the participation in foreign fairs, JEA is eager to expand markets for Jordanian companies and boost export levels,” he added, indicating that Canada is a promising market for national products and a route to entering the USA. Khodari emphasized the vital role that industrial exports play in advancing the country’s economy by boosting output, growing existing investments, and creating job opportunities, in addition to bolstering the Kingdom’s foreign exchange reserves. Jordan has been steadily increasing its participation in international food fairs, and SIAL Canada is one of the events where the Kingdom’s food industry is able to make its mark with its high levels of quality and competitiveness.
