Jordanians Rally in Amman in Support of Palestinians

Amman – In a significant show of solidarity, Jordanians gathered in downtown Amman, rallying after Friday prayer in front of the Al-Husseini Mosque. The demonstration was a public expression of support for the Palestinians amidst the ongoing conflict.

According to Jordan News Agency, the protestors vocally condemned the bombardment of the Gaza Strip by Israeli occupation forces, which has affected infrastructure, religious sites, schools, and hospitals. They expressed frustration over the perceived global inaction and double standards regarding the war and its consequences. The demonstrators called for strong international and Arab intervention against the ongoing violence.

Participants, waving both Jordanian and Palestinian flags, urged Jordan to discontinue all forms of engagement with Israel, while also commending the country’s stance on the issue. Moreover, they stressed the need to support the resilience of the Palestinian people in Gaza. The protestors highlighted the urgency of opening crossings to facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza’s residents, who face severe threats including forced relocation and genocide.

In addition to the central demonstration in Amman, similar protests were reported in other parts of the city, including in front of the Al-Kalouti Mosque, and in the port city of Aqaba, indicating a widespread sentiment among Jordanians in support of the Palestinian cause.
