Jordanian Monarch Advocates for Gaza Ceasefire and Humanitarian Access

AMMAN — In a significant appeal amid escalating tensions, King Abdullah II of Jordan has called for an immediate cessation of hostilities in Gaza and the establishment of a humanitarian truce.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Jordanian monarch underscored the necessity of uninterrupted international aid delivery to Gaza, highlighting the critical need for food, water, medicine, and fuel. The King stressed the importance of supporting the uninterrupted efforts of relief organizations actively engaged in the Gaza Strip.

King Abdullah II articulated that the path to resolving the Palestinian-Israeli conflict hinges on the pursuit of a political solution, aiming for a just and comprehensive peace founded on the two-state paradigm. He cautioned against reliance on military or security strategies as means to achieve conflict resolution.

Reiterating Jordan’s position, King Abdullah II confirmed the kingdom’s steadfast support for the Palestinian people in their quest for an autonomous and independent state, with borders demarcated by the pre-1967 lines and East Jerusalem as its capital.
