Jordanian King Abdullah II called, during a phone call Thursday with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, for halting Israeli attacks on the West Bank, stressing the need to reach a comprehensive calm in the occupied territories that would prevent the expansion of the conflict in the Middle East. King Abdullah II warned of the hostile acts carried out by extremist settlers against the Palestinians and Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem, reiterating the need to reach an immediate and permanent ceasefire in Gaza. He also noted the importance of the role of Germany and the European Union in reducing escalation in the Palestinian territories, pointing to the importance of finding a political horizon to achieve a just and comprehensive peace for the Palestinian cause based on the two-state solution Source: Qatar News Agency
