Amman:Jordanian King Abdullah II engaged in a phone call on Friday with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio to discuss efforts aimed at de-escalating tensions in the region.
According to Qatar News Agency, the King emphasized the importance of reaching a comprehensive ceasefire agreement that would ensure the security and sovereignty of Arab states. He highlighted the crucial role of the United States in supporting these efforts to achieve stability in the region.
The discussion included outcomes from the recent Aqaba Process meetings held in France, which focused on garnering international support for the Lebanese Armed Forces to enhance its capabilities in maintaining Lebanon's security and stability.
King Abdullah II also warned of the repercussions of Israel's actions in southern Syria, affirming Jordan's support for Syria's efforts to bolster its security, stability, and territorial sovereignty.
Additionally, the conversation explored ways to strengthen the strategic partnership between Jordan and the US across various sectors.
