Jordanian Environment Minister Highlights Climate Efforts at 34th Arab Environment Ministers Council Meeting

Muscat – Dr. Muawieh Radaideh, Jordan’s Minister of Environment, participated in the 34th meeting of the Council of Arab Ministers Responsible for the Environment (CAMRE), which commenced this past Friday in Oman.

According to a new release by Jordan News Agency, Radaideh outlined Jordan’s strides in the area of environmental protection, notably in mitigating the impacts of climate change. The minister also cited the country’s Economic Modernization Vision (EMV) and its emphasis on sustainability. He additionally mentioned the global initiative launched by His Majesty King Abdullah II during a climate conference held in Sharm El-Sheikh last year.

In a separate meeting on the sidelines of the conference, Radaideh met with Dr. Abdullah Omari, head of Oman’s Environment Authority, to discuss the implementation of the executive program related to a memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed between Jordan and Oman. The MoU focuses on increasing joint cooperation and coordination in the area of environmental protection.
