Qatar: Qatar has imported nearly 100 tons of various types of Jordanian dates from the start of the year until the end of the third quarter, demonstrating a notable increase in demand for this popular fruit. According to Jordan News Agency, the total imports mark an 8.7% increase from the 92 tons that were imported during the same period last year. The most favored varieties among Qatari consumers are the "Medjool" and "Barhi" dates. These selections are particularly appreciated for their quality and competitive pricing, which stand out in the Qatari market even against other imported varieties from countries like the United States. The surge in imports is a reflection of the expanding local markets in Qatar and a rising demand. This trend underscores Jordan's long-established reputation for producing and marketing high-quality dates. The significant growth in date imports is also attributed to the proactive efforts of Qatari traders and importers who are keen to satisfy the increasing consumer demand. This demand has been partly fueled by a rise in the number of visitors and tourists, especially those attending major events in the country. The ongoing increase in the import of Jordanian dates not only highlights the fruit's popularity but also signifies strengthening economic and trade relations between Qatar and Jordan. Both countries continue to enhance cooperation across various sectors, further boosting their economic ties.
