JMD expects pleasant weather Monday

Temperatures on Monday are expected to record 4-5 degrees below the annual average, with pleasant weather conditions prevailing in most parts of the Kingdom, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said in its daily update. Clouds at low altitudes are also forecast, with a chance for light and scattered showers in the northern areas, while winds will be northwesterly moderate to active, the JMD added. On Tuesday, mercury levels will rise a few degrees, bringing warm conditions in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba, and fair weather in other regions, the JMD predicted. Wednesday will see a further increase in mercury, triggering warm conditions in much of the country except in the Jordan Valley the Dead Sea, and Aqaba where it will be relatively hot, with southeasterly to southwesterly moderate to active winds, the JMD noted. Today, the highs in Amman and other highlands across the Kingdom will range between 21 and 23 degrees Celsius, dropping at night to 10C or even 7C in the southern highlands. In the Gulf city of Aqaba, it will be much hotter with mercury reaching a high of 33C and a low of 19C.
