Italian football club AS Roma has confirmed the signing of Algerian midfielder Houssem Aouar.

Aouar, 24, has signed a five-year contract with the Giallorossi that runs until 30 June 2028.

Speaking to the club’s website, Aouar said, “I’m very happy to have signed for Roma, because they’re a great club with a great history.” “I think it’s the right project for me, with a big team, quality players and a unique fanbase. I’m now a Giallorossi player and I’m ready to go.” Aouar comes from Lyon, where he progressed through the youth academy from the age of 11 until his first-team debut in 2017. He has 179 Ligue 1 appearances, with 30 goals and 24 assists.

He also has 34 games and 5 goals in European competitions, including the Champions League and the Europa League.
