Tunisian President Kais Saied met with a European delegation including European Commission President Ursula Van Der Leyen, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, and Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte.
During the meeting, they discussed ways of enhancing economic cooperation between Tunisia and the European Union, in addition to reviewing the file of illegal migration.
Following the meeting, a joint statement between Tunisia and the European Union was signed. The two sides agreed to work together on a comprehensive partnership, covering economic and trade ties, sustainable and competitive energy partnership, migration, and poeople-to-people contacts.
