The right-wing Israeli government continues its accelerated policy in relentlessly implementing the plan to seize and Judaize Jerusalem, and eliminate its historical Arab identity, as part of its apartheid practices against the defenseless Palestinian people since decades long, Royal Committee for Jerusalem Affairs (RCJA) warned. In a statement to “Petra” on Monday, RCJA Secretary-General, Abdullah Kanaan, said Israel’s settlement projects, evacuation of Jerusalemite neighborhoods, campaigns to storm Palestinian camps and towns, and assassinate their residents, is reinforced by Tel Aviv’s hard-line government. In this regard, Kannan referred to the Israeli government’s step to hold its meeting Sunday in tunnels of the Islamic al-Buraq Wall, in a flagrant defiance of international legitimacy resolutions. He said occupied Jerusalem is an exclusive Islamic site, including Al-Aqsa Mosque / Al-Qudsi Al-Sharif and al-Buraq Wall, with its total area of 144 dunums. RCJA, within its follow up on Jerusalem’s developments, affirms that Israel commits political, economic, cultural and social crimes against the Palestinian people and humanity as a whole, he said. Kannan added this effort is part of Israel’s dangerous agenda and strategy aimed to extend the fake Israeli sovereignty and identity over the occupied Palestinian territories, without any regard for international legitimacy. Based on the Hashemite custodianship over Jerusalem’s Islamic and Christian holy sites, he said RCJA affirms “firm” Jordanian position and its “continuous historical” efforts to defend the Palestinians’ rights , including the historic and legal right to self-determination and establishment of an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital. The RCJA, he said, called on the world and its legitimate organizations to immediately assume their duty to achieve peace and security and find a solution to arrogance of Israeli parties’ leaders and their defiance of international law. Kannan said RCJA stresses need to support “unrelenting” Jordanian effort to protect the Palestinian people.
