Israeli Forces Deny Access to Al Aqsa Mosque for Worshippers

Jerusalem – Israeli occupation forces-imposed restrictions on access to the Al Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem, preventing dozens of worshippers from entering the holy site. The Islamic Waqf Department, which oversees the compound, reported that those denied access were forced to pray in the streets surrounding the mosque.

According to Jordan News Agency, the department indicated that most of the worshippers turned away were elderly men and women from Arab towns within Israel. The restrictions, which have been in place for two months, led to this denial of entrance. In a separate incident in occupied East Jerusalem, an Arab citizen was compelled by Israeli authorities to demolish his own house in the Jabal Al Mukaber neighborhood due to lack of a permit. Rami Al-Zeer, the owner, stated that the 80-square-meter structure housed a family of four. He had attempted to obtain a license repeatedly but was unsuccessful. The Jerusalem municipality had ordered the demolition, threatening a fine if not complied with.
