Jerusalem: Israeli colonists on Sunday stormed the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied Jerusalem under heavy protection from Israeli occupation police.

According to Qatar News Agency, local sources reported that around 240 colonists entered the mosque compound through the Moroccan Gate. The colonists conducted tours and performed Talmudic rituals, while Israeli forces enhanced military measures around the mosque and the Old City of Jerusalem.

Groups linked to 'Temple organizations' had urged their supporters to participate extensively in the storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque and perform rituals inside the compound, using Jewish celebrations as a rationale.

Israeli occupation authorities use Jewish holidays to close roads and impose restrictions on Palestinian movement across the West Bank, including Jerusalem. This exacerbates daily hardships and further restricts freedom of worship for Palestinians, while facilitating the movement of Israeli colonists and confining Palestinians within their cities, villages, and towns.
